Sardar Patel Stadium is now world’s largest cricket stadium

Sardar Patel Stadium also known as the Motera Cricket Stadium is now world’s largest cricket stadium. The stadium located in Motera area of Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
The stadium was established in 1982 with a seating capacity of 54,000, which has been renovated. The stadium now has a seating capacity of 1.1 lakh, thus overtaking the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.
The stadium is also India’s first green-rated cricket stadium. Built at the cost of Rs 700 crore, the project boasts many feature. The project has been developed by Larsen and Toubro (L&T).
The project includes 76 corporate boxes, an olympic sized swimming pool, four dressing rooms, parking for 3,000 cars and 10,000 two-wheelers, and a clubhouse with 55 rooms, among others.
