Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) has inaugurated its first vertical storage warehouse in Bhiwandi, located in the Thane district of Maharashtra. Spanning 2.84 lakh sq. ft., the facility marks a major milestone under GCPL’s Project Parivartan initiative, aimed at redefining logistics and warehousing through innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.

The warehouse boasts over 3,200 pallet positions and features a high-density G+6 vertical racking system, significantly enhancing storage capacity while reducing land use. The warehouse is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including advanced material handling systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI-ML) based warehouse monitoring, infrared fire detection, temperature and gas sensors, and a centralised Warehouse Control Centre. To ensure workplace safety, GCPL has also integrated a VR-based safety training platform, offering immersive and effective instruction for on-site personnel.

This strategic expansion aligns with GCPL’s broader efforts to build a future-ready, agile, and responsive national distribution network. The vertical warehouse strengthens GCPL’s supply chain, enabling faster deliveries and improved efficiency. It also complements the company’s earlier milestone from March 2025, when GCPL launched its first integrated greenfield manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. This facility manufactures all major GCPL brands such as Cinthol, Godrej No.1, Goodknight, and Godrej aer.

The Bhiwandi warehouse plays a critical role in advancing GCPL’s Good & Green goals. Its intelligent design reduces transit times, optimises resource use, and lowers the environmental footprint, supporting both business and sustainability objectives. By reimagining its supply chain with technology and eco-conscious practices, GCPL reinforces its position as a leader in responsible and efficient logistics.
