Western Railway has invited bids for the earthwork and blanketing in embankment/cutting in formation of new broad gauge (BG) line.

The scope of work comprises earthwork and blanketing in embankment/cutting in formation of new BG line, including yards, bridge approaches etc., construction of bridge work (minor/rub-foundation, substructure and superstructure) as per Railway's approved design and drawing, development of retaining/boundary/toe wall and supply & spreading of machine crushed stone ballast.

In addition, work also entails laying and linking of BG track for main line, loop lines and points and crossing etc in section/yards, transportation of permanent way materials, welding of rails, and other incidental miscellaneous works etc., between Dhar (excluding)-Amjhera (including) section (27.55 km) in connection with new BG line project between Dahod-Indore of Ratlam Division and Tirla-Maphatpura section (1.50 km) in connection with new BG line project between ChhotaUdaipur-Dhar of Vadodara Division.

The contract is expected to come approx. Rs 273.72 crore and scheduled to be completed within 18 months.

The due date to submit the bid is 12 March, 2024.
