A network of drinking water, sewage collection, treatment and disposal will be set up in 23 villages and residential localities developed and proposed in east and south sides on outskirts of Nagpur, Maharashtra.
The project will entail an investment of Rs 1,600 crore. NMRDA has selected an area of 55,838 ha for development as urban sector under the metropolitan region.
Two sectors -- East-A comprising 10 villages and adjoining 3,763 ha area and South-B of 13 villages and adjoining 4,303 ha area — comprising 23 villages and total area of 8,066 ha have been selected for the scheme.
A detailed project report (DPR) has been submitted with Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) for technical sanction after clearance from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT). DRA Consultants has prepared the DPR.
South-B comprises Besa, Beltarodi, Ghogli, Pipla, etc where already high-rises have come up. East-A include Kharbi, Bidgaon, Bahadura, Kapsi, etc.
