Sunny Opotech, a subsidiary of Zhejiang (China)-based Sunny Optical Technology, has signed an agreement with Apple to establish a $300 million facility in India.
The project will be implemented in stages until 2026. The project's location is still being finalised.
The company will cater to Apple's mobile phones as well as its laptops and computers. The agreement with Apple will increase India's revenue from $300 million to $3-4 billion.
The company anticipates that mass production will begin in China in 2024, with India following after undergoing some quality testing procedures.
The work on will start in 2024 on the new facility that will produce Apple products.
