Sterlite Power has achieved financial closure for its Kishtwar Transmission (KTL) project in Jammu & Kashmir by securing debt funding of Rs 305 crore.
The deal has been successfully concluded with Aseem Infrastructure Finance, an NBFC–IFC (Infrastructure Finance Company).
The project involves construction of a transmission system consisting of a 400/132 kV GIS substation at Kishtwar and a 400 kV transmission line from Kishenpur to Dulhasti. The transmission system will allow the evacuation of 1,000 MW of power from Pakaldul hydroelectric plant to Kishtwar substation. Other advantages include decongestion of the downstream networks in the region and bringing improved quality and reliability of power flow to the Kashmir Valley.
Sterlite Power acquired the KTL SPV in December 2022.
