Doors manufacturer Shakti Hörmann plans to invest Rs 175 crore in setting up a greenfield fire-rated wood and steel doors manufacturing facility in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It will serve the commercial and residential doors market.
The new facility will come up at Mahindra World City will have a capacity to manufacture 1.3 lakh wooden doors per annum and two lakh steel doors per annum. Completion is expected by March 2024 and steel doors manufacturing is anticipated by July 2024.
The company sees potential for expanding to manufacture industrial products and other products, as per evolving needs. The company, already has a capacity to manufacture two lakh steel doors, door frames and 10,000 industrial doors per annum at Gagillapur in Hyderabad. Once the new facility is operational, the Hyderabad facility will focus primarily on the south markets and in 2025, with expansion planned to make wooden doors.
The company, which has been primarily catering to the industrial, commercial, institutions, hospitality, hospitals and airports in India, is now eyeing the business-customer (B2C) market with the Jaipur plant going onstream.
Moreover, the firm is foraying into the manufacture of perimeter security products such as boom barriers, automatic bollards, tyre killers and road blockers for high security establishments in private and public sector, with manufacturing to start from early next year.
