Mobile components manufacturer, SFS which intends to set up a manufacturing plant in Belagavi by investing Rs 250 crore, has sought 30 acres of land from the government. Once land is provided, it will create employment for more than 500 people in the next three years.
While SFS delegates pursued talks with the Minister for large and medium industries MB Patil in Bengaluru, he informed that the proposal will be reviewed to arrive at a decision. Specifically, the company is engaged in manufacturing spares for mobile companies including Apple, and has already set up an aerospace components manufacturing unit in Belagavi.
This will the first big industry to come to the border district in the last few years, which faces shortage of land parcels for industrial development.
Belagavi is the second largest exporters in the state.
