Steel Authority of India (SAIL) is
planning to add an additional seven million tpa capacity at its Bokaro steel
plant.
The company has already undertaken a
Rs.11,500 crore expansion programme at Bokaro to augment the plant's capacity to
about 7.5 million tpa from the present 4.5 million tpa by 2010-11.
SAIL also proposes to set up a 12
million tpa steel project in Jharkhand, subject to getting necessary resources
including iron ore and land.
