Rane Group is planning a capital expenditure of Rs 800 crore over the next three years. With a surge in domestic as well export orders, the company is looking to expand capacities across businesses.
The steering, seatbelt and airbags businesses may incur a capex of Rs 300 crore, while friction material business is expected to spend about Rs 120 crore.
Similarly, aluminium castings business would incur about Rs 150 crore capex, and Engine Valves’ business would spend Rs 80-90 crore.
The company has also received approval under the PLI Scheme for Rs 100 crore to set up a new facility to produce airbag parts, which are being imported now.
The heart of the airbag – inflator - will be made locally for the first time at its new plant being constructed at Tiruchi.
