RRP Electronics plans to invest Rs 5,000 crore in a semiconductor facility located in Maharashtra over the next five years. The announcement came alongside the unveiling of a 25,000 sq. ft. facility in Navi Mumbai on 23 March, 2024.

The company intends to expand its operations by establishing a research and development (R&D) centre, and enhancing its setup to include a multi-line OSAT and a fab foundry. The expanded setup will go beyond the current outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility.

RRP Electronics aims to leverage government subsidies to boost the venture, and  serve sectors like automotive, power, electronics, and industrial markets. The company is supported by Sachin Tendulkar, and his role as a strategic investor was emphasised, showcasing the trend towards capital-intensive ventures, with various firms engaged in similar initiatives.
