Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and launched various infrastructure projects worth Rs 29,000 crore in Mumbai on 13 July, 2024. Regarding this, he said that he plans to turn Mumbai into the world’s financial powerhouse and the fintech capital of the world.
The PM also laid foundation of multiple railway projects in Maharashtra including Kalyan Yard Remodeling at the cost of Rs 813 crore and Gati Shakti Multimodal cargo terminal at Turbhe at the cost of Rs. 27 crore. The construction of new platforms at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at the cost of Rs 64 crore and extension of platform number 10 and 11 at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at the cost of Rs 52 crore was also inaugurated.
Moreover, the upcoming Wadhavan port in Maharashtra has been approved by the union government will generate 10 lakh employment, he informed. The infrastructure development projects launched by the government has increased employment opportunities in the state and will increase multi fold in the coming times.
