Electronics manufacturing company Optiemus Electronics (OEL) has partnered with Primebook to manufacture Primebook 4G, an Android 11-based laptop especially designed for students and learners in tier-II and tier-III cities.
Under the partnership, Optiemus will manufacture around one lakh laptop units for Primebook by the next financial year. Its specifications include 11.6 inches HD screen with 1366 x 768 screen resolution, four GB LP DDR3/ 64 GB eMMC RAM/storage and 10 hours of battery life. It has a two MP camera and runs on PrimeOS (Android 11) operating system.
Apart from moving forward with its portfolio expansion plans with laptop manufacturing, besides hearables/wearables category and telecom equipment, OEL will be scaling-up operations.
The collaboration marks OEL’s foray into the laptop manufacturing market as a diversified segment, and its indigenous manufacturing will bolster the ‘Made-in-India’ initiative and help reduce production costs.
Primebook laptops will be available on online retail platforms with purchase benefits such as ‘No Cost EMI’ available for up to 24 months, freebie Microsoft 365 personal six months’ subscription, and iPrep educational content subscription. It will be priced at Rs 14,990.
