Mahindra Logistics has inaugurated a one lakh sq. ft. extension to its existing multi-client warehouse in Nashik and also announced the development of a new warehousing facility, taking its overall warehousing footprint to five lakh sq. ft. in Nashik, Maharashtra.
The new facility is scheduled to become operational by the end of Q3 of 2024. The facilities will be designed in accordance with the company's sustainability standards, encompassing the utilisation of renewable energy, use of recycled construction materials, efficient liquid discharge management, and adherence to waste management requirements. With on-site solar power generation capabilities, it can fulfill energy needs and is equipped for solar chargingto serve both cargo vehicles and those for personal mobility.
The company, along with its partners, plans to invest Rs 100 crore for these new facilities and will generate employment avenues for more than 300 persons in the region. This will enrich the overall business ecosystem for companies, and furthermore, the expansion would enable creating a warehousing infrastructure and network nationwide as per its sustainability standards.
Mahindra Logistics undertakes the distribution of auto components for production plants located in Nashik, Igatpuri and Mumbai for an Auto OEM customer from its existing warehouse. The new facilities will offer inbound logistics for automotive, engineering goods, and consumer durables customers, incorporating automated processes with end-to-end visibility.
The strategic location allowing easy access to industrial clusters as well as captive markets in Nashik City, Aurangabad, Satpur, Silvasa, and others will aid in efficient logistics operations. Oveall, these integrated solutions for its clientele in the region, aligns with its strategy to establish larger, world-class facilities in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
