A major milestone in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor has been achieved with the completion of a 120-mtrs. river bridge over the Kim River in Surat district, Gujarat.

The bridge was completed on 15 March, 2025 and marks the 14th river bridge completed out of 21 planned in the Gujarat section of the high-speed rail project. This newly completed bridge is situated between the Surat and Bharuch bullet train stations, approx. 30 km from each. It features three full-span girders of 40 mtrs. each, supported by four circular piers, each four mtrs. in diameter, with pier heights ranging from 12 to 15 mtrs.

The list of completed river bridges in Gujarat includes those over the Par, Purna, Mindhola, Ambika, Auranga, Venganiya, Mohar, Dhadhar, Kolak, Vatrak, Kaveri, Kharera, and Meshwa rivers. These bridges span multiple districts, including Valsad, Navsari, Kheda, and Vadodara. Meanwhile, other significant river bridges over the Tapi and Narmada rivers, located on the same Surat–Bharuch route segment, are still under construction.

These crossings are crucial to the timely progress of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project, being implemented by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL).
