Industry body Indian Steel Association (ISA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ASEAN Iron and Steel Council (AISC) in Manila, Philippines for bilateral cooperation and exploring new avenues of growth in the steel sector.

The partnership will leverage the expertise and resources of both organizations to unlock new avenues for growth, and sustainability in the steel industry, and will facilitate technology exchange, R&D, trade facilitation and market growth through collaborative initiatives.

The manufacture of environmentally and economically viable steel is key to infrastructure development and employment generation, and further, the discussions also focused on decarbonization efforts, establishing measurement standards, and adopting sustainable production technologies.

ISA is the apex industry body which represents the interests of the domestic steel industry.
