The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) plans to set up a solid waste management centre ranging between 1,500 sq mtr and 2,000 sq mtr area in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and HDFC Bank.
At the centre, dry waste will be segregated and processed into a material recovery facility (MRF). It will also process and dispose of waste collected from homes.
The authority will also develop an application that will track garbage disposal. Phase-I of the waste centre will be established and operated by HDFC bank for four years under its CSR initiative.
The authority has directed the health department to prepare a detailed evaluation report, including identifying the land area, at the earliest to commence the project.
