The Convergence Energy Services (CESL) will set up 810 electric vehicle charging stations. These EV charging stations will be set up across 16 highways and expressways covering 10,275 km across the country.
The selected corridors include routes such as the Mumbai-Pune highway, Ahmedabad-Vadodara Highway, Delhi-Agra Yamuna Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Hyderabad ORR Expressway, among others.
CESL is using a service procurement model for setting up these charging stations. It will partner with companies whose job will be to invest in and operate these charging stations across the expressways and highways.
These charging stations are expected to be established over the next six to eight months. Providing fast DC connectors, CESL will install 590 chargers of 50 kW capacity and 220 chargers of higher 100 kW capacity.
The chargers with 50kW capacity will be available every 25 kilometres and the 100 kW chargers every 100 km.
