Bharti Airtel Group and Telangana government have jointly announced an investment of Rs 2,000 crore for setting up a large hyperscale data centre in Hyderabad, Telangana.
The group will route its funding through Nxtra data centres, its data centre subsidiary, in which it will invest capital investment of Rs 2,000 crore to create the infrastructure to attract future investments from customers.
The facility will have a hyperscale data centre with a capacity of 60 MW of IT load in the first phase and will be equipped with the latest technologies in cooling and security components. The project has an estimated completion timeline of five to seven years.
The Telangana government expects to strengthen the digital ecosystem in Hyderabad, which is the hub for hyperscale data centers in India with the committed investment.
The announcement was made in Davos, the venue for the ongoing World Economic Forum where the IT and Industries delegation is participating.
