1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Bengaluru Metro's Green Line extension to start by October

The extended Green Line of Namma Metro on Tumakuru Road from Nagasandra to Madavara (BIEC) is expected to commence commercial operations by October, 2024. The trial runs will start shortly on the three-km stretch.

The extended line, part of Phase-II of Namma Metro has three new stations at Manjunathnagar, Chikkabidarakallu and Madavara. The line will be opened after obtaining safety clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS). This will also increase network to 76 km in the city. 

Under Phase II, BMRCL has extended two of its operational lines in four directions. Three of these extensions, from Mysuru Road to Challaghatta (on Mysuru Road), Yelachenahalli to Silk Institute (on Kanakpura Road), and Byappanahalli to Whitefield, are open for commercial operations in a phased manner.

The other three Metro lines being constructed under Phases-II, II A and II B are Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara, RV Road to Bommsandra, and Silk Board to Kempegowda International Airport.

BMRCL anticipates the extended service will help gain an additional ridership of 25,000 to 30,000. Once the extended line becomes operational, trains services will be operated till Madavara. Work is nearing completion at Madavara. While traction power supply is done in other two stations, it will be done shortly at Madavara.
