The Karnataka government has drawn up plans to expand the capacities of 6,601 schools across states at a total investment of Rs 992.16 crore.
The project, named Viveka Yojane, was rolled out by the former chief minister Jagadish Shettar, on 15 November 2022 at Hubballi. Under this scheme, the government will build 245 classrooms in the Dharwad district by end 2022.
The additional classroom building work will be undertaken by the public works department at Rs 13 lakh each for primary classroom and Rs 16 lakh each for highschool classroom.
