Eleven new industrial parks are being developed by the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) in across the state. These parks will cater to the chemical engineering, automotive, and other industries.
New industrial parks will be constructed at Ramanathapuram, Tuticorin, Sivaganga, Kancheepuram, Nagapattinam, Theni, Krishnagiri, and Tiruchirappalli. Each park would be spread across 13,500 acre land.
From the point of view of creation of jobs, every 11 new industrial parks is expected to create job opportunities for around two lakh people.
Currently, Tamil Nadu has 21 industrial complexes, and seven special economic zones spread across 12 districts.
