Surat Municipal Corporation has issued a tender for the construction of flood protection work in Tapi river on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.

The selected bidder will be responsible for design, engineering, and construction of the project, covering a length of approx. 5700 mtrs. and will construct protection work as per site requirements on either side. The scope of work also includes conducting the environment impact assessment of the project and getting the required clearance from from CRZ authorities, Forest authorities as per the statutory requirements and proof checking.

The completion period is 24 months from the letter of acceptance of the bid, and would exclude monsoon period. The maintenance of the project will be carried out during the defect liability period (DLP), which is of one year. The contract has an estimated value of Rs 440.77 crore.
