Kolkata-based Ramkrishna Forgings plans to install a 7.82 MW capacity roof-top solar project at its existing forging plants at Seraikela and Dugni in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be approximately Rs 35 crore, which will be financed through debt and equity sources.
Upon completion, the power generated will be used for the company’s captive consumption, thereby reducing its dependence on grid power.
Further, the project aligns with the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and carbon neutrality goals of the company.
Ramkrishna Forgings manufactures forged products and is a supplier to the automotive, railways, oil & gas, bearings, power and construction, and many other sectors in India and the overseas markets. It is a supplier to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as well.
