Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually addressed the first International Solar Festival 2024, organised by the International Solar Alliance, an inter-governmental organisation of 119 member & signatory countries working to promote solar power as a pathway for a carbon-neutral future.
The festival focused on four core themes - the role of youth, communities, women, and the private sector, towards the objectives of sharing knowledge, fostering innovation, and building international cooperation towards a solar-powered future. By bringing together stakeholders, the festival will deepen support for innovative financing, technology deployment, capacity building, and technical assistance. As one of the founders of the International Solar Alliance, India is committed to working with the world for a green, inclusive future, Prime Minister Modi stated.
In his video message, HE Pravind Jugnauth, Prime Minister of Mauritius, upheld India’s commitment to drive the solar-led energy transition towards a prosperous and equitable world, and also said that the ISA’s programs are playing a key role in Mauritius, by helping solarise primary healthcare centers, and to meet 30 percent of its energy needs by 2030.
