On March 17, 2023, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) declared SP Singla Constructions (SPSCL) as the lowest bidder (L1) for the construction of a new 9.45 km long bridge between Sherpur-Dighwara as part of the 137 km Patna ring road (NH131G). The project is valued at Rs 4994.79 crore.

The project scope includes the construction of a six-lane bridge and its approaches across the Ganga as part of the Patna ring road (NH131G) in Bihar, beginning at km 8.480 near Sherpur and ending at km 23.000 near Dighwara.

This six-lane bridge over the Ganga river will be the second connecting Danapur and Saran districts. The project consists of five km of approach roads on either side connecting NH-30 (Danapur-Maner road) and NH-19 (Dighwara bypass road), totalling 14.52 km.

S. A. Infrastructure Consultants prepared the detailed project report (DPR) for the Bharatmala Pariyojana (BMP) Lot-5/Package-7. In February 2023, the state government of Bihar approved Rs 316 crore for the acquisition of 86.12 hectares of land for its construction.

The project is expected to be completed in 3.5 years. It will be implemented on engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) mode.
