Greenko Group plans to invest Rs 10,000 crores to set up a Pumped Storage Project (PSP) near Gandhi Sagar in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh.
The project is designed to deliver a daily storage capacity of 11 GWh and meet the state's power demand by producing dispatchable and on-demand energy to fulfil peak demand and reap associated cost savings.
The PSP project will help meet the statutory Renewable Power Obligation (RPO) and the recently notified Energy Storage Obligation (ESO) targets of the state. The long duration storage solutions will assist in initiating the economy-wide transition towards carbon-free energy.
The project will create employment opportunity for over 4,000 people, when completed by December 2024.
